DEREK ROSS ...
Born in Mississauga, Ontario, Derek grew up in a number of cities outside of the province, including Montreal and Port Hedland, Australia. For the last nine years, however, he has proudly called London his home. Derek studied history and political science at King’s College (UWO) before completing his law degree at the University of Western Ontario in 2007. While in law school, Derek was the recipient of numerous prizes and awards, and achieved top standing in several of his classes. He also spent a semester studying American law at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, where he received a CALI Award for Excellence.
Derek articled at a leading law firm in the Toronto area, where he obtained substantial experience in civil litigation and charity law, among other areas of practice. After being called to the Ontario Bar in 2008, Derek accepted a fellowship with the University of Toronto to pursue graduate legal studies leading to his Master of Laws degree (LL.M.), which he received in November, 2009. He has written numerous legal articles, including publications in The Lawyers Weekly, Charitable Thoughts, and the Christian Legal Journal. Derek’s interests include theatre, travel (especially by rail), and history.
